• Coordination of activities within the R&D department on the field of non-active cardiovascular implants for the occlusion of structural heart diseases • Management of design verification and validation tests • Organization of mechanical and biological tests for FDA approval of CE-marketed products • Support of the transition of CE-marketed products from MDD to MDR

• Development of heart implants for the occlusion of structural heat diseases • Material development of biocompatible coatings and coverings of the implants • Process development of polymer coverings and transfer from R&D into production • Documentation (risk analysis, work instruction, test plans, lab reports) • Design of experiments with external labs for testing (biological, chemical, mechanical) of the developed heart implants relevant for product verification

- Manufacturing of plasmonic nanostructures for single molecule detection - Plasmonically supported luminescence enhancement of upconverting nanoparticles - Correlative Microscopy (Single Particle Spectroscopy, Fluorescence Microscopy, AFM) - Micro-/Nanofabrication (Lithography) - Material Characterization (SEM, FIB, TEM, Metrology)

- Gene Inhibition by RNA Interference - Hands-on experience in basic molecular and cell biology techniques - Hands-on experience in establishing and maintenance of cell cultures
